Joy Rester Brooks was born and raised in Louisiana. She received her Bachelor's in Communication with a concentration in Theatre with an emphasis in Stage Management from Louisiana Tech University in May 2020. Joy received her Master's in Theatre with an emphasis in Directing and Stage Management from Louisiana Tech University in May 2022. She  served the Box Office Manager for Stone Theatre during her time as a Graduate Student from 2020-2022. Joy is currently employed as the Company Manager at Florida Repertory Theatre in Fort Myers, FL since May 2022.  Her goal is to become an Equity Stage Manager and Director in the future. 

 

She married her husband, Jimmy, in December 2022 and has a cat named Binx!
